Inmarsat - Satellite Connectivity for Remote Operations
Customers operating at sea and in remote locations needed dependable communications where terrestrial networks were unavailable, unreliable or prohibitively expensive.
Approach
Worked directly with external customers to translate operational requirements into practical satellite connectivity solutions, including supporting the design and delivery of BGAN and VSAT services and helping customers integrate satellite connectivity into their wider operating environments.
Outcome
Customers received solutions designed around their operating conditions, coverage needs and service requirements, enabling communications beyond the reach of conventional infrastructure.
- Customer-facing solution delivery
- BGAN and VSAT
- Maritime and remote connectivity
Shell - Global Voice Transformation
Shell's global voice estate included hundreds of ageing PBX systems, inconsistent support arrangements and significant operating costs. The strategic direction was to move towards modern Microsoft-based voice and unified communications services.
Approach
Supported the transition from traditional telephony to modern unified communications, including Microsoft Teams and enterprise IP telephony requiring estate discovery, migration planning, supplier coordination, service readiness and carefully managed cutovers.
Outcome
More than 250 legacy PBX systems were retired, approximately 11,000 traditional telephony users were supported through the transformation, and an estimated £17.4M in cost reduction was achieved.
- £17.4MCost Reduction
- 11K+Users Supported
- 250+Systems Retired
Shell - Enterprise IoT Device Lifecycle Platform
Shell needed a consistent way to manage a rapidly growing estate of IoT devices across multiple operating locations, while improving visibility and avoiding additional complexity for site teams.
Approach
Helped develop and scale an enterprise Device Lifecycle Management platform across Azure and AWS, bringing device health, security certificates, connectivity status, location data and lifecycle information into a single management view, working across product, security, architecture, suppliers and site stakeholders to establish the supporting governance and operating model.
Outcome
The platform grew from approximately 3,000 to more than 12,000 managed devices across 12 to 13 sites, improving visibility, strengthening lifecycle governance and providing a more consistent way to manage enterprise IoT deployments.
- $2.3MPlatform Investment
- 12K+Devices
- 12+Operating Sites
Shell - Enterprise Low Earth Orbit Connectivity
Shell needed an enterprise-scale Low Earth Orbit connectivity service for remote operations, integrated with its SD-WAN environment and supported through a consistent operating model.
Approach
Supported the evaluation of Starlink, OneWeb and Amazon Project Kuiper, developed service requirements and helped shape the integration and support approach for enterprise deployment.
Outcome
The work introduced Shell's first enterprise LEO connectivity service and informed a longer-term roadmap for resilient remote connectivity.
- Enterprise LEO introduction
- Multi-supplier evaluation
- SD-WAN integration
Shell - Private 4G for Industrial Connectivity
An industrial site needed reliable and controlled wireless connectivity to support operational use cases that public mobile and traditional WiFi services could not consistently address.
Approach
Supported a private 4G pilot at Shell's Ghent facility, working across site teams, network engineering, suppliers, security and enterprise architecture — including SD-WAN integration, laboratory testing, governance approvals and development of a supportable enterprise service model.
Outcome
The pilot demonstrated how private mobile connectivity could support industrial operations while integrating with enterprise infrastructure, security controls and support processes, informing the longer-term private 4G and 5G roadmap.
- Private 4G pilot
- SD-WAN integration
- Enterprise roadmap development
